I'm tempted to write someone's name on my guitar but I might decide its stupid and erase it some time. How could I do this? If it makes any difference I have a cherry sunburst finish (This is on my Les Paul)

photograph your guitar and use coral draw or equivalent to see what it looks like with writing on it.

Sharpie comes off with nail polish remover.

nail polish remover will corrode the clear coat on the guitar. use the car window paint stuff. you know, the stuff ppl use to advertise their car is for sale, dealers use it too. you may wanna just refrane from any writing if you want to be sure no damage is done to your guitar...

PS- i have the same guitar as u TS, the epi lp. same color too.

definitely go with the car advertisement pens (whatever they're actually called...) but you should probably be ok with some damage ahead of time. i don't think it would damage it, but just in case.

whiteboard markers work

+1

this actually sounds like a good idea. and they come in more solid colors. car paint crap is usally neon colors cuz ppl notice that more.

and it just brushes off too, which is nice. you can then actually draw on your guitar, wipe it off, draw something different. i might actually try that.

Roffle! But, you could probably have one of them sign it and then sell it, generating enough cash to buy a new guitar!
