Pseudo New Face-Plate Day!!

I got tired of the normal chrome diamond plate on my Mesa, so I called Mesa to buy a new black faceplate but they wanted $200 for just the faceplate. So I decided to make my own.

It cost me $50 and some of my time but I love the results.

I used a heat gun to remove the faceplate from the headshell. Then I sanded the diamond plate with 220 sandpaper. Washed it with dawn to remove all oil and debris. Primed it, let it dry, then painted it black. finally, I reattached it to the headshell.

Ya that guy is awesome at the woodworking. He said that he'd be selling faceplates like that for $100 or something like that on boogie board. Which is a great price for that kind of workmanship.

Cheez, Mesa wanted $200 for a faceplate.... DAMN!

You did a great job. I like the black faceplate a lot more than the chrome.

Good work!~
