This may get moved to the alternative/indie thread, but I don't see how it fits in that genre.

Anyways, I've seen nothing on Robert Francis on UG, except for a tab, and I have to share him with you guys. He such an amazing artist.

He recorded his first album One by One when he was 17/18 and is now releasing his second album soon. The amount of maturity and emotion in his first album is completely astonishing. He's been compared to Bob Dylan, Towne Van Zandt, Neil Young. He's already been considered a classic artist such as Bruce Springsteen. I've already some songs from his latest album and they're all amazing, opposed to most sophmore albums

I'm jealous he received lessons from John Frusciante

I'm hoping to spread some love

One by One is a great album. Little Girl and All Of My Trains are probably my favourites. I like his backstory as well, I think he got a guitar from Ry Cooder or something.

Back in the 70's I decided to take all the frets off Jaco's Bass thinking he would play worse. Man did that backfire.

GSAWS, I LOVE YOU.

Yeah this guy's backstory really is something. He got a guitar from Ry Cooder and he got to take lessons from freaking John Frusciante

Quit playing guitar, dropped out of school, got his heart broken and then made one of the greatest debut albums ever, haha

He wrote and recorded One By One from the ages 17 to 19 and he recorded pretty much all the instruments.

Yeah, Ry did give him a guitar, his son plays drums on it I think too, and Ry did play on a few tracks as well.

So do we know when Before Nightfall comes out, because I've read that it comes out digitally on September 22, and that its not being released physically until October 20, but there hasn't been any official news on his website about its release.

Official release is Oct 20.
I'll probably wait to buy the actual copy

I'm really enjoing the new EPK, I just don't know what it's for, you know, I'm hoping they're putting out a DVD of all that footage- I would love it.

NVM- I was thinking about the old "One By One and Beyond" EPK, I hope it's a DVD

Here's the new one, SHOWCASING SOME NEW BADASS SONGS!

So, "Before Nightfall" was released today. Haven't been able to pick up a copy of the album yet, but I found an online stream which I'm listening to right now. So far so good.

Edit: Listening to the new version of "One by One," pretty interesting. I wonder why he decided to remake the song for this album
