Because you usually only see locking tuners when the guitar has a Floyd Rose bridge, there are a few guitars that have locking tuners with a TOM bridge but IMO I think its pointless if your guitar is set up right.

it's just one of those things that are well if you got the money get em, if not don't bother really

I don't mind because they came with the guitar, i doubt i'd get them otherwise but from a buying perspective it was a "bonus"

I think TS made the point just above me, but..

If the TS was saying I'm buying some locking tuners for the guitar I already own that has a Tune-O-Matic, then you would have a point.

But if you're buying a guitar that already has them, BFD...

Because a tremolo bridge is not the only cause of strings going out of tune....

Strings can go out of tune when you BEND them (even with Tune-O-Matic or other non tremolo bridges).

However, locking tuners are still not needed to resolve that.
Properly winding the strings in the tuning peg and lubing the nut slots will resolve that.

But the point is, having something that is not needed is not Wrong or Bad...
And locking tuners are an easier resolution than properly winding strings in the pegs.

The locking tunners he is talking about is not like the floating bridges at all. Look at pic, no locking nut.

So there fore that would lead me to believe they are the kind that lock at the tunners themselves. Which is never a bad thing so why is everyone making a big deal out of it?

TS - ****ing sick guitar man.....how you liking that Evo PU? I got one in my RG and that is IMO the best PU ever made.

Don't think I'm making a big deal about it. IMO (get it MY OPINION) I think they are pointless if your guitaris set up right. Doesn't mean I dont think there a great product lol

EDIT: Oh and a Floating bridge doesn't have to have a locking nut to be a floating bridge

The EVO PU is nice, but tbh, i can't really notice a difference between them and my stock 170dx PUs, Mostly because i'm still on my 15x cube, will 100% be getting a bugera 333XL in a few months or bit more when i get better

I know i should of got the amp first, but i saw this on ebay and was like holy ****e i must have it!

It's extra tuning stability, I can't see a disadvantage.

^I'd like to know why they think it's odd too.

Well for one reasaon they're quicker/easier to string. Also Since the string is locked inside of the tuner, there's no slippage, and it stays in tune better.

^Dude, I was asking why people were saying locking tuners were an odd choice for a TOM bridge. I know what locking tuners are

(And I was saying, why do you think it's an odd choice, they'll only add stability)

Imo

I'll end up putting locking tuners on every guitar i have probably, They're about $100-$200 right?

You spend say around $500-1000+ on a new guitar

It takes 2 seconds to change a string, you get better tuning stability imo totally worth it

I love them

Altho.... i srsly suck at changing strings so this is why i like them better

locking tuners are useless with a FR. Just get something to hold your strings up there, tune, lock the nut, and retune.

Why do you think theres headstockless guitars? lulz
