I tried and failed.. You can use winrar and put a password on it, but you can't do it as easy as it was on XP...

Download 7-Zip for free. Google it :P.

Alright, right click on the folder, go to "7-zip>add to archive"

Name the archive where it says name in the top left.

Go down on the right on hand side(no that wasn't a porn joke :P) and see where it says "enter password"

Fill that in. And fill in "reenter password"

Leave everything else alone, and click "ok"

use my suggestion. It works. Not because I have porn to hide, but because I'm computer literate :P.

Basically you can't, not without some external programme. I've yet to find one that doesn't suck balls.

Isn't it appropriate that all the programs you've used suck balls, when the reason you downloaded them was to hide pictures of exactly that act.

7-Zip. Lol. It opens .RAR, .ZIP, and has it's own extension as well. And I believe it has a few others no one uses.

It's no good for a folder you want frequent access too and want to save to regularly becaue it requires compression of the files and extraction again whenever you want to use them. It's not as simple as having your folders password protected.

http://www.truecrypt.org/

doesn't exactly do what you want it to do (put a password on a folder) but essentially does the job. It creates a file that, when mounted, will act as a separate hard drive. you can save to it, copy to/from it, delete from it etc.

when it isn't mounted, it just appears as a file with no associated program.

why not just make the folder "Hidden"?

it'll disappear unless you allow your computer to view hidden files as well. this way no one will see the folder.

it works fine for my porn

Download this:
http://www.fspro.net/my-lockbox/

You get a program called lockbox. You can set any folder to be your "lockbox." When you open it, it asks for a password, and then (if the password is right) it unlocks the folder and adds a lock to the taskbar. Right click the lock and press lock and quit, to exit the program.

When locked the folder disappears, and cannot be found or used in any way. Works wonders for my porn folder.

Ok, I like this the best but once I've opened the folder, I can open it anytime I want to again without entering the password.

It should lock it so that I have to password it everytime I want to enter the folder, not just the first time.
