for my solos i can finger tap tremolo pick hammer on and pull off obviously i know most of the scales. is their more i could do to add more "umph" to my solos. im looking for solos that sound like parkway drive or disturbed solos but anything that sounds good is cool
the hours have become irritations! i find myself reduced to lifes immitations!!

Learn some other stuff like sweeping and pinch harmonics. Watch Marty Friedman's melodic control video if you didn't already.

you could add pinch's, bends, divebombs, slides, legato, sweep picking.

Learn your modes, make sure you 'feel' what you play dont go just shredding your ass of without even caring

A slow build up: start with smooth bending and stuff, really melodic ascend in to a bit of legato stuff, pick up some speed and then unleash teh fckin fury kinda like that

Learn to do tricks with your guitar like Adrian Belew did animal noises or Alexi Laiho and Steve Vai do that cool "flutter" thing by flicking their tremolo bars.
