None.

Music is way too preferential to just say "No matter what you have to have this artist". I do have to admit though that I've yet to find someone who doesn't like Bohemian Rhapsody.

I didn't mean I'm trying to tell people to get this stuff or force them to like it. I was asking what music "you" personally have to have, or are your personal favorites.

The New Pornographers are probably my most important band. Fabulous. It took me a while to become a fan (And I already had three of their albums) But once I became a fan I started hearing songs that are very high in quality. They helped my songwriting a good deal, Now I don't use distortion constantly and I don't get tired of listening to my own songs because of distortion.

The first six albums of Manowar, the rest are good too but the first six ones (with Ross the Boss as the bands' guitarist) are awesome!

No.

Well, technically it could be done, but only in the same way that you could change a cat into a hamburger. It's an unpleasant process, and nobody is happy with the result.

Honestly, Bob Dylan is pretty much the only person who I think everyone 'should' listen to. I can't think of anyone or any genre to whom he would not be relevant or appreciated.

Other than him, there's really nobody that you 'have' to listen to. Even Dylan's only 'should'.

Katatonia....
Pretend you've made a typo and insert Catatonia in there instead, and maybe. Much better band with much wider appeal and relevancy.
