Ok, sorry if this is a stupid question, but why does this:

http://www.guitarcenter.com/TC-Electronic-NM-1-Nova-Modulator-Modulation-Guitar-Effects-Pedal-481878-i1397549.gc

cost less than this:

http://www.guitarcenter.com/TC-Electronic-Stereo-Chorus-Flanger-100095419-i1124653.gc

The modulator has both chorus and flanger, not to mention all the other settings. So why is it cheaper? Does it not sound as good as the stero chorus/flanger? I mean theyr'e both TC electronics, I suppose they must sound similar.

i have an inkling the modulator is digital while the chorus flanger is analogue.

Yep, that is correct. Analog BBD chips are pretty costly to use and thus the price is higher (along with other reasons).
