The Eclipse or the EX? I love both body shapes and the specs are similar if not identical. So can I have your opinions? I play thrash obviously.
Please excuse my godawful username. I was thirteen.

I really like the EC series, the EX's are cool too, I just prefer the EC's.
The EX has a Floyd, the EC has 24 frets, so whichever is more important to you.

the EC 401 has 22 frets, at least my 401VF does anyways.

I see a lot of people with the EC Any model, but I rarely see people posting owner ship of H-400s, Viper-400s, AX-400s, F-400s, etc. is it just a bad combination of gear/woods or sound/visual preference that steers everyone away? I love the old H series (cockstock!)

I'm playing my ex-401 now. Just got it a couple days ago. It's the olympic white, it's beautiful and sounds amazing even through my crap amp.

Wrong. The only difference between the 400s and 401s are that the 400s are mad in Korea, while the 401s are in Indonesia.

I love my FX-400 btw.

Also, I'm assuming Standard 401? Not the DX thing?

Oh, and the older EX400s came with black hardware, while the newer 400s and the 401s come with this black nickel/cosmo black horse**** that rubs off and becomes chrome.

400's have better attention to detail probably better tonewoods.

well they are awkward in the sense that you need to be extra careful because the bigass point likes to find itself bumping into everything concievable

That comes with the Korean manufacturing.
My FX (natural finished EX with the F series HS) is pretty comfortable.
