I actually have a song for this piece [it's in the Tabs & Chords section, and the link is in my signature], but no one really critiqued the lyrics, so I figured this would be the perfect place to go.

The flow might seem a little unorthodox, but it works with the music written for it, so I apologize for that. Anyway, here it is:

What good is a dream when you wake up to something worse?
Something wailing at your door, as you just want to quench your thirst
A noise that penetrates and obligates you to awaken all your
Ideas and fantasies, they sit 'cause they can't do much more, but
Duty, she calls, she's gonna be home late tonight, and I
Can't help but feel like this is gonna be a fight
Sometimes we put the more evil ideas first
Sometimes temptation's best at its worst

Make it out the door, into the rain, where I thought I might
Try to find some help but there's no umbrella in sight
Yet somehow all the rain doesn't get us wet at all, and
Even if it did, I don't think anyone would care at all, 'cause
Duty, she calls, but the line is breaking up
I can't hear the story that she's probably making up
Sometimes obligations only get in your way, you gotta
Listen to temptation when it's trying to say

Let's go
Take a trip to our minds
They won't know
Just say we were here the whole time
It won't show
What evidence could they find?
It won't matter tomorrow
'Cause duty's never on time, so let's go

Just trust me
Duty will never know
Don't think so shyly
She'll never hear of this show
Please don't worry
She's stuck out cold in the snow
I see you're blushing
The temptation is so

It overwhelms me

Duty, she calls, but I hang up the phone
She'll never know that I wasn't alone.
I saw the thread with the song, and I always really liked it. i really like the lyrics and they go really well with the piece. It's a pretty uplifting piece and keeps the mood throughout.
