I have a guitar amp that sounds really bad (peavey classic 50), and I think a speaker might be blown. Is there any way to tell if a speaker is damaged or blown just by looking at it? I would rather do the repair myself since I know how to solder rather than pay a lot of money to have someone else solder a few contacts and charge me thirty bucks.

I also have a PA speaker that does not work right. How can I tell if the speaker or the tweeter is blown, or if the crossover is messed up? Are there any other things that go wrong with PA speakers?I have it taken apart and I dont see any other things that could be the culprit of it not working correctly.
