Said mp3s shall be supplied, if not perhaps a video clip.

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, I've been sick beyond belief. As in disorientation and thinking you were in Lord of the Flies then World War 3 fighting off a kraken. Yeah, that kind of sick.

Anyways, updates coming sometime soon hopefully, all that's left is final sanding and finishing.

The different finishes will all have their own sample pieces, each of which I shall post a picture of.

i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

Okay guys, by popular request here are some finish samples. Possibly finishing thee guitar tonight.
just a bunch o' stains.
(Invalid img)
Here are all the red stains.
(Invalid img)
Feedback would be great because I am possibly finishing this VERY soon. And just so you guys know, those 2 brighter reds are actually a bit pink. So keep that in mind. After the Stain I'll be putting on some high gloss clear coat

Yeah, thats what I was thinking Copa, but IRL thats a bit pink. I wis thinking the middle red. Its like a blood red, but not quite as vibrant.

Okay, just got back. Turns out we'lll be doing the finish next wednesday because of how much the poly changes the stain color. Those pinks turned to a dark red, and the dark red turned to a slightly different dark red.
Sorry, all i could take pictures with was my phone. But you can see some differences between the poly side and non poly side of all the samples. The poly is darker on all of them. I left the samples at the shop to dry overnight.

Lol, should've known you were thinking ahead.

And if I wasn't set on some kind of red, there's this one sample that looks absolutely beautiful with the poly over it, I think it was the one I did with golden pecan stain.

You need to get lessons on how to take pictures. Lighting and focus (or are just using a craptastic camera?)
Other then that, Nice build!

The bigger pictures were an actual camera (although a crappy one)

But all the littler ones are webcam, and the REALLY little ones were my phone.

But yeah, I do need to get better at taking pictures anyway.

Anyone here know if rub on poly reacts badly with aniline dyes?

Because after i put the poly on (this only happened on the dye samples), it got this weird texture whereas the stains were all smooth as silk. I might try sanding the poly smooth and putting on another layer to see what happens.

Thanks. I put the first coat of stain on tonight. Looks pretty good. But its drying at the shop now so I can't take pictures with an actual camera so it was taken with a slightly better camera. Pics will be up tomorrow, MAYBE tonight if I get homework done at a reasonable time.

I'm trying to get pictures from my phone onto the computer right now. the pictures are of the first coat of stain. the low point of the grain didnt fully absorb the grain, so we put on another coat, however this one dried with green splotches. Right now the guitar is sanded back a little and we are applying the stain in about 2 hours.

^I really wanna sig that but I'm outta room.

Anywho, the first coat pics:

Now there is still a bit of green in the new finish, (pics later) but I'm hoping it'll be less noticeable with poly over it? We figured it might be from the gold finish on the lid of the jars we used to mix the dye.

Fingers crossed.

Doesn't look like there is any green on my test pieces so i won't be able to tell if the poly brings it out or hides it...great.

Okay guys pretty big updates here, just a warning though, still no pics. I promise i will post them all in sequence once I find the cable though.

aside from the final painting on the headstock, the guitar is all wired up and just about ready for assembly.

Let me tell you, this finish just looks amazing with all the poly IMO, I'm very glad i chose aniline dyes
