I'm still trying to practice up strumming. The problem is that when I strum up, the pick tend to "bounce" off the 1st string. It seems like strumming down is much more natural. When strumming up usually I miss a few strings and I put more force into it. How do I up-strum more naturally? pick angle?

Practice. Make sure you're relaxed, don't hold the pick too hard, and practice. It might be worth muting your strings with your fretting hand and just practicing random strumming patterns til you feel comfortable, then put your fretting hand back into play.

sounds like your holding the pick to hard therefore it isnt flowing relaxed, hold it so its flexible but also make sure you have a good grip.
and just keep practising from there
