GC is hooking me up. I'm trading in my Blackstar 110's for a 212.

FOr my Blackstar head, I can either get a Randall 212 with Celestion G12-65's for $199, or a Basson with 2x12" Eminence Legend's for $275.

I only play mostly thrash, hardcore, and classic metal (Sabbath, Maiden, Priest).

What do you guy's think?

Thanks.

If the Randall has real G12-65s, as in the Heritage speakers, then that cab for sure. Those speakers alone are about $400 to replace.

If they're really G12T-75s, then the Basson.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

^ I had the guy at GC open the back for me. They are in fact G12-65's.
I can play the Randall. The Basson is through CL.

Thanks for the input.

Then I'd definitely get the Randall. If you don't end up liking it, you can part it out for way more than $200 and then buy a nice Avatar or something. G12-65s are awesome speakers though.

^ Ok. Done. The Basson is one sexy looking cab though - but I'll be $75 richer.
Thanks man!
Cheers.
