delays, reverbs, flangers, phasers, chorus, tremolos, overdrive, distortion, the whammy, synths, loop stations etc

Chat effects!

What are your favourite combinations? Keep it simple... Keep it safe? Or do you go all out with as many pedals switched on as you can?

A simple delay pedal and whammy plugged into a loop station can create pretty cool riffs:

Well the original song is played with a cello bow. :P

By the way, it only gets tuneful at 1:20 lol.

Such a pretty picture
I'm a compulsive pedal user.
I actually need a delay pedal to play some stuff I do for the purpose of layering notes.
#9
I use an overdrive, and that's pretty much it. I have spent like over $4000 on guitars/amps, and maybe $500 on pedals.

Starting to get into pedals. I have a Dunlop Wah and a Seymour Twin tube on order. I wanna get the MXR Phase 90, Dyna Comp and Smart gate and also a Boss DD3.

I've got a mad obsession with pedals, but not the funds for them really. What I've got is pretty nice though.

I've pretty much given up my TS-9 and DD-6, I just go direct to amp now.

I'd love a EHX Microsynth or a Moogerfooger filter for some Daft Punk riffing.

And a compressor to smooth things out.
#16
I currently have modded TS9, MXR 6 band EQ, Digitech Whammy, Line6 Uber metal and Danelectro FAB echo. I'm going to be selling the line 6 and the FAB echo to buy a EHX memory boy and the Ibanez WH10 reissue whenever it comes out.

with my RP150 I can get some cool effects (not that cool but still...), try for example, a flanger, and a delay (not too long), and then volume swells... It's pretty basic but sounds cool.

I'd love a EHX Microsynth

Got one

They're disappointing at first but grow on you once you figure out all the settings. I opt to keep the guitar signal in there and mix it with a bit of synthesiser and octave below to give it a beefy synth sound.

The pedal's also got a cool "attack delay" setting whereby you can create really easy violining sounds. They're expensive but pretty fun.

Tremolo, delay, overdrive, and reverse reverb are my three favourite effects. Oh.. .and pitch-shifting. ^^
#20
My faves are delay and chorus. Nothing like some nice delays with some chorus.

[quote="'[BurnTheDusk"]']Boss pedals may be built like tanks but I would rather buy a cardboard box that is on my side than pay for a tank that is working against me.

I heart overdrives. And modulation. I bought a Slash wah and never use it, so now im waiting for someone to trade me a used Line 6 DL-4 or a lesser value delay and/or another overdrive for it.
#22
I've got a Zendrive 2, Mosferatu, DD-3, Little Alligator, modded Dunlop wah, DS-1, vintage TS808, and a Tube Driver. I've owned a Wylde OD, TC Chorus (couldn't afford to keep it at the time, awesome pedal. I may have to get another), Carbon Copy, and an AD9 Reissue. I'm on the waiting lists for the Cochrane Tim and Timmy (3 months), the AnalogMan Bi-Comp(due Dec or Jan), AM KOT (1 year left) and I think I got on the EchoCzar waiting list a few weeks back but I'm not sure, I'll have to check my e-mail.

Anyone wanna recommend a tremolo pedal and new volume pedal?

I love my pedals, I mostly leave them on whenever my amp is on to sculpt my tone, i don't have much use for dramatic effects life phasers and flangers, but i love my pedals

Does anyone else hate crybabys? They seem to ruin everything I'm playing other than dead note chord strumming.

That's because the GCB-95 Crybaby is a really crappy wah. Wait for the Ibanez WH-10 reissue to come out, or buy a 535Q...

some of my pedals. love hooking all that crap into 2 or 3 amps with 2 or 3 instruments running into them and a bunch of control voltages running around the moogs, fun times. i run my wah, mutrons, expression pedals and controller pedals off the board.

What are those... Moog pedals? I wasn't aware that Moog produced guitar effects. How much did they cost you?

well, i still have 1 leg left, was able to keep both arms though. really wild pedals though, worth every cent if you are into intense effect manipulations. there is just no comparison to the control voltages in these pedals. gonna get their huge expression pedal and cp-251 sometime or another
