Hey guys, just wondering if this is a good guitar. I know the pups are ****, but everything else seems pretty good. I don't know why its so cheap (about $500 CDN)
I would appreciate your help. I play metal/metalcore some progressive and hardcore.

Thanks

I've tried the RGA42FM, and it felt quite nice. I didn't really see a whole lot wrong with it, and pickups can be changed if you get tired of them. It was well built and had a beautiful finish.

Thank you, Red Comet, for restoring a bit of my faith in human kind.

I have the RGA32.

The pickups aren't as bad as most people say they are (not great either) but they'll last a while.

Overall this guitar, to me, felt better than the RG1570 which I played before it, so I'd say it's pretty great.

Don't worry, it can do the chug-chug pretty well, plus you have the mid-cutter (which people here, i guess, hate)

The FM one looks pretty good in real life. The Flame sticks out a lot more than in the pics of it anywhere.
My name is Collin, please feel free to use it

this is absolutely, 100% correct.
For example, Dave Mustaine has a signature coffee mix.

I agree with this guy

Yeah, the flamed top is awesome, and it's a very well made guitar. you'll love it.

Make sure the body is routed to handle those active pups- bu the EMGs should serve you just fine. You thinkin some 81/85s?

The RGA42 does come with actives already, that is the main reason I passed on it and went for the RGR421

Great guitar though, especially for the dollar.

Yeah, I was looking at this guitar for a while. It's quite good. The only reason I don't like it is the active pups.
