Hello UG forum-goers!

I am on the hunt for a new electro-acoustic guitar. I've had my eye on one or two Freshmans (the FA250DCE and the Apollo 2DC, for instance), and quite fancy one of those. I've had a go of a few Takamines, Crafters (I liked the ML-Rose with the red sun on the 12th fret) and Fenders too. Basically, I'd like some suggestions, advice or information; tell me what guitar I should buy, which ones to avoid, etc. My budget is £500, maybe a tiny bit more (stretch to £550).

Thanks for reading!

My favorite guitars are Seagull acoustics. I don't know if you'll be able to find them across the pond, but they sound fantastic and while they can be a bit more expensive in comparison to other brands, they're totally worth it. The S6, which is solid top+laminate back/sides sounds better than a few more expensive all solid wood guitars from other companies.

Anyway, enough rambling. You can get a guitar from their Maritime series with electronics for around that price. I'd go for that.

I've got my eye on the Takamine EG523SC. It's about $700 U.S.
