I've always been fond of pickup colors outside of black/white/cream. Any ways I can find strange colors like red, pink, etc besides Dimarzio?

Swineshead makes some pretty good (and interesting) pickups, coloured and wood finished.

this pertains to my intrest as well, can you paint pickups without messing up the magnetic field? or would it sound different.

Awesome, will those pickup covers cover up the single coil in an RG550? I've shown interest in some blue PuPs xD. Black is so, bland :/

if you can somehow get the plastic housing off without causing damage, just spray paint it.

i've seen some people brush paint their pickups while they're still intact - looks totally tacky and vile. i'd advise against this.

In that case, a swirling idea wouldn't sound bad.

on some open coils, you can carefully pop off the plastic top of the pickup, paint it and put it back on.

Why yes, I do believe so. I've only ever seen them on the Ibanez Jem 20th anniversary edition, but they look like strawberry kiwi.

I wouldn't recommend painting it, unless you actually have some skill, otherwise it will look as said before, tacky.

I remember I saw some site online that sold some type of coating for pickups, similar to plastic, but it was attracted to the magnets of the pickup to avoid ripples and it actually looked as if the pickup was done stock. I'm pissed, I forgot the damn site name.

The original Jems are great for weird pickups, as well as swirl stuff.

Have you tried clear pickups?

How much do you think that acrylic JEM is...?

More than the PRS #2032 Private Stock Single Cutaway Hollowbody? $16,550 if anyone is wondering.

EDIT: I found one for $5,500. Cheaper than I thought by a lot.
