hi guys,

im thinking of buying an agile (AL-2000 w/ Floyd or a AL-3100)
and i want new pups in it when if i decide to get one

I play metal (a7x, disturbed, BFMV), and emo (ETF, BTF, Silverstein, Eyes set to Kill)

I was thinking about a JB/59 combo, but i dont know if that is gonna work in the metal department. (I know zacky V. uses JB's, but still )

Also, the emo bands i just called all use Gibsons (very recent some changed to ibby's)

Really? I would have thought EMG's were like **** buddies with emo music?
Either that or they cut each other.

no,

emo requires a lot of clean tones and we all know thats what EMG sucks at

but will a set of JB/59 will give some good distorted tones and good cleans?

IIRC - Mark Knopfler used EMGs and a Floyd through the 1980's

A JB/59 combo can handle pretty much anything...as long as your amp can as well. Most of your tone comes from the amp so I would go and get say, a Valveking or 5150 combo and then think about PU changes.

ow and my budget is inc the agile 500 euros

the agile is inc mailcosts 490 dollars, which is currently 342 euros and i think that it's even gonna be less in the next few months

so i'll have about 160 left for pickups

but can someone still give a comment on the GFSs i posted?

Have your dad pay free and get you a new amp.
I mean, you could get new pickups, but it won't matter at all, and you won't be able to hear a difference. At all.

and what about my POD on a 3000W speaker set ?? i know it'll sound different there

JB/59 combo will do it for you. And you don't have to improve your gear in any particular order, even if the amp you have won't let you hear the improvement too much, you've still improved your gear.

The Agile won't be that cheap if you're importing it to Holland.

And pickups are just about the least of your concerns with your current setup, the modelling processor is what's shaping the tone, any subtle qualities you'd get from decent pickups are just swamped.
