Who do you think is the most intelligent musician either musically, intellectually or just in general?

MJK seems pretty knowledgeable and is a good singer. Brian May has an astrophysics degree or something.

I don't honestly know I think you'd have to atleast speak to them properly to know but yeah Brian May is intelligent in the academic sense, apparently Hendrix was super intelligent too.

Who's MJK?

Ima say Robert Smith or Pete Doherty. Multi-instrumentalist and award winning poet respectively.

Edit: And having thought some more, Josh the Third has a physics degree. So i unno. Maybe he's quite clever?

I'm sure there are a lot of musicians out there who are intelligent but not knowledgeable. If that makes any sense.

Hah, I knew MJK would be mentioned even before I opened this thread.

Richard D. James is pretty smart with electronics, he strips down the circuits on his synths and rebuilds them to make a new synth, and is pretty good with programming software synths as well.

Too bad he comes off as a pretentious twat. Still love Tool though.

To contribute, I think that everyone in Radiohead seems to be pretty intelligent in general.

I've never thought that. Back in the day he messed around with the media to get his point across a bit. I saw him recently promoting his wine on a show and he came of as a very smart and laid back guy.
