well i've been gone for 3 long years
and i've done everything a young man should
i've been arrested and i've know freedom
been around the world once or twice
chorus
and yet i sit every night
a bottle by side
wondering if i've done wrong
someone tell me i've done right
verse
i've lost some good friends
and made some more along the way
good times came
good times went

chorus
and yet i sit every night
with a bottle by side
wondering if i've done wrong
someone tell me i've done right
verse
i've slept under streetlight's
and crashed in 5 star hotels
drank the cheapest beer
and eaten off of sidewalks
made young girls cry
chorus
and yet i sit every night
with a bottle by side
wondering if i've done wrong
someone tell me i've done right

Not bad, but it doesn't really feel like it goes anywhere. It doesn't really have a proper ending. Also the verse/chorus pattern gets very repetetive, It needs a bridge or something like that.

hmm. i like it. sounds like something rise against would play.
between the second verse and chorus, r u missin a line? is that what the gap is for?

idk if u intended that or not but if u didnt and r lookin for a line, try soemthign like,
"and i faced each new day"

just seems to fit to me.

all in all good job buddy.

Not bad.

I'd work on the first stanza a bit. It sounded a bit awkward when I read it. Try adding an extra line in there or tweak the words a bit. I'd also try to add a bridge somewhere in there (as said before). Add an ending too. It ended too abruptly. Either add another stanza or repeat the last line of the chorus a couple times but change it up each time.

"Someone tell me I've done right"
"Please tell me I've done right"
"Just tell me I've done right"

Something along those lines. All in all this is some good work.
