First things first:

This is NOT a VS. Thread. This is open to discussion of all facets of either artist's music, and the impact both have had on UGers young and old.

One was in The Blues Brothers, one has been covered by the Chili Peppers among others, and both have seen many musical triumphs.

Who influences you more as a musician/music fan?

Poll coming.

Ray Charles did what a lot of musicians wish they could do. Play without looking at their instrument.

So did Stevie.....

Aren't all voiceovers performed by Morgan Freeman?

I thought that was like a law or something.

Ray Charles is probably the one who influenced me "More."

I've never heard a Stevie wonder song, but I've heard a Ray Charles song before.

Stevie Wonder plays a shedload of instruments without being able to see them.

Aditionally, I wouldn't want to say who was more influential, both have such a wide range of influence across so many artists and genres it's unbelievable.

Ray Charles for me. I just prefer the style of his music more. Having said that, I don't know much of the Commodores stuff anyway.
Fender 60th Anniversary Standard Strat,
Epiphone Les Paul ES,
Line6 Flextone III,
Laney VC15,
Some pedals,
Some recording gear.

Is that really your best way of describing their influence? The fact that one was in The Blues Brothers and that the other was covered by the bloody Chili Peppers?

There are SUCH better things that could be said about them.

EDIT: But yeah, to the point, I'd choose Stevie, purely because I saw him live and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

EDIT 2:

This is obviously a thinly veiled VS. thread but i dont see why the mods dont allow more like this. This is a site mainly revolving around music so i dont see why the wont let us discuss our musical preferences (as long as we refrain from flaming of course).
