When i change strings on my acoustic, the end pins on the bridge don´t hold the string. sometimes they seem ok but when i´m winding the string they snap (that, at the middle of the winding process, can be very frustrating)
is there a technique to secure the string and preventing the pins from popping out? or do i just have to keep trying?

It happens. I would use bone bridge pins that fit properly and you will have less problem with it. Also I noticed that when I used Martin Marquis strings which are silk wound they tended to get stuck in the groove of the bridge pin. Switched to SP's and that took care of the problem.
