It all started a few weeks ago when the announcement was made that AC/DC would be coming to Greensboro, not even 40 miles from my home.

Now, I've always been a huge fan of AC/DC. The first album I ever purchased was "Highway To Hell." I've always loved the band and ever since I first heard them when I was twelve I've wanted to see them in concert.

Well, the announcement rolled around and I was instantly decided that I would go. The tickets were steep (100 bucks a pop) but I was willing to pay it...

...then I lost my job.

I realized slowly that without a source a steady income I would not be able to drop 100 bucks on AC/DC ticks. I was incredibly disappointed but it wasn't my first missed concert, so I went on with my life.

A friend of mine kept asking me, "Dude, don't you still want to go? You can still go. I'll lend you the money."

However, I'm a very proud person and I don't like to borrow things from people. He kept insisting but I just kept telling him that I didn't want to borrow the money and that if I could, I'd buy my own ticket and we'd go.

Well, today he sent me a Myspace message with the title, "I lied to you, man."

The message basically said, "I told you that I only bought my ticket, but I actually bought two. We're going. You can pay me back whenever you can, but we're going. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."

I still can't believe my friend would do that. I mean, I knew I had awesome friends but this is just unbelievable.

TLR: my friend bought me a ticket to AC/DC. He's an awesome friend.

Anyone else ever have this happen? It makes me feel great.

Yeah man I've had that happen, and have done the same in return. It really is a wonderful feeling, both giving to a friend in need and receiving the help from them.

I love people that do things like that out of the goodness of their heart. I have alot of friends that would do the same thing, and I know how lucky I am. I try to do whatever I can for them as well, but I love my friends.

I love this thread now

On the basis Pepsi > ACDC. You have the superior friend.

Wow, way to use this thread to flame AC/DC. You're so cool.

He didn't flame them, he just said Pepsi was better, and in terms of drinks I'd say he's won that arguement before it starts

I mean while I derive no musical pleasure from Pepsi I must say to quench a thirst AC/DC will not help me in that respect.

However Brian Johnson is the kindof guy who would probably buy you a pint, I met him in the local indian resteraunt, canny guy.

Ah, My friends/Crew and I do that for each other all the time.
I used to have really bad panic attacks, and once on a Biking Trip with my crew to Shaw Island I had one really badly and I was crying and it wasn't really good. Char gave me a big hug and wasn't letting go until it was over.
I love my Crew and my friends outside the Crew

You, my friend, are what we call a dick.

Oh, and one of my friends has done the same for me, twice. First time was to the NIN/JA concert, and now it's Metallica.

He used to have a UG account, "The Contagen", but then he requested a perma.

My friend did a similar thing except it wasn't AC/DC, it was local gig with a bunch of scene kids there.
