ive been playing accoustic for a while and i was thinking, i wonder what the easiest accoustic song is, personally i think it'd be free fallin' by tom petty, well if you have a capo, what do you think?

"Jane Says" by Jane's Addiction is only two chords (G-A) the whole way through with a pretty easy strumming pattern. That's probably the easiest one I know.

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

And yet so many people suck at it so badly.

"anyone else but you" by the moldy peaches. (featured in the movie juno!)
it just switches from G and Cmaj7 (2 fingers, simple) the whole way through, an easy strumming pattern as well.
first song i ever learned!

wonderwall is rediculously easy i guess thats why so many douche bags who know how to play it call them selves serious guitarists
It's always the last day of summer and I've been left out in the cold with no door to get back in

A lot of Goo Goo Dolls stuff seems easy, assuming the tabs are right. I never did the weird retuning to check it out, but there were plenty of open strings...

America - "Horse with No Name". Four chords, all on the second fret.

John Cage - 4'33"

No chords... no notes... no sound... all the way through.

Really, I'm quite of fan of John Cage, mainly because of how he wrote music and acted as a composer. But as for the "no sound" bit, the music is what you hear around you when it's being preformed, the stuff like that guy in the row behind you coughing, the dude in the front row cracking open a sprite, and the little kid asking his mom "When is he gonna start playing?" and stuff like that. A different show every time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gN2zcLBr_VM The man himself preforming it back in the day...and yes, I realize it's on piano, you can play it on any instrument.

Yeah, when I was at music camp, me and some other people wanted to preform 4'33" at the talent show...so we filled out the necessary paper, handed it to a counselor....and they ripped it up on the spot

But contributing to the thread once more, "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay (Yes, I said it) is really simple too.
