What it would sound like if somone who didn't speak fluent english, tried to immitate it? I know whenever people are immitating asian they put in lots of 'chings' 'chongs' and what not. So what it does it sound like when someone is trying to make fun of english?

I always thought the typical imitation of english was just to be really upright and snobbish and over-enunciate every syllable

n then mime a cigar or a strut or something

Ive seen that quite a few times, then there's also the popular imitation of cockney people, which is basically the opposite

Exactly, each English sounds different.

Saying 'yeehaw' and waving a gun around would imitate American nicely.

Most of you people have got the wrong idea.

He means how would they imitate the language, not the accent.

Eh. Not really.

You either imitate the accent, or you get the language wrong.

A non-speaker of English would be hard pressed to differentiate between accents. Can you tell different Chinese accents apart?

They don't speak english! They're going to get the language wrong. What I'm asking is what words would they say? People tend to lump a few words together when immitating a language (see OP). What would they say for English?

... Which brings us back to accents and dialects. If a Chinese person constantly watched Eastenders, he'd turn up not knowing the language, and "lump a few words together" like "Awright Charlee?" "Sling 'yer hook!", etc, etc.

Likewise if they watched Westerns they'd say "Howdy, Chief." or something.

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.
