Who in the music world today do you think will have the same effect on people when they die like Elvis, John Lennon or Kurt Cobain did?

Honestly the only person I think would come close would be Bono.
However, I also believe that those who die and deserve recognition will not get what they deserve. Like Bob Dylan for example. i don't believe people will care as much as they should when he dies, but y'know...

So what does everyone think?

Mikael Akerfeldt? (sp?)

He seems pretty cool, I'm not an Opeth fan btw, it just seems that he is pretty cool. Maybe Vai, Petrucci and Gilbert? I dunno, they seem alright.
An Augmented 4th or a Diminished 5th?

You think people won't make a big deal out of Bob Dylan's death??
They'll make a ridiculous thing out of it.

Anyway, we can't know who will influence future generations. Let's just find out by waiting. There will definitely be some current artists who will/have influence(d) people.

what i'm saying is that they won't make as much out of it as they should.
Odds are he'll be knocked of the front page by Miley Cyrus' new hair colour.

Did people actually care when these washed-up pop stars died?

Personally, I'll be glad when Bono dies - he's just a smug rocker using humanitarian aid as a cover to flog his ****ty, ****ty music.

Dave Grohl.

If he continues the bloody amazing work he's doing, Matthew Bellamy.

Iron Maiden, although they already have enormous influences on most metal musicians starting after the 80's.

Didn't you hear? Theres no more slavery in America!

I don't think there will ever be and famous artists that were as influential as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd and the Beatles. Rock and roll is already too old for pioneers.
