what i meant by this is does anyone have any tips for the things he did. i know about his fancy major barre chords with using his thumb, but that's about it.

i tried watching old footage of him but his hands were so huge it's hard to tell what he's doing.

Don't worry about playing note-for-note. Hendrix never played a song the same way live. Just feel the music and go with it.

Thats the beauty of Hendrix. You dont have to learn all the intricate solos and fills, because you would never hear him play a song the same way twice. You just have to know what goes where and feel what your doing and you'll be alright.
