Anyone know about any guitarist who uses another's sig live?

I wouldn't call the Les Paul a signature guitar, just a guitar named after the guy who made it. IIRC Les Paul has a specific signature model.
Breaking stereotypes by playing indie on a metal guitar.

Current Gear
- Epiphone Les Paul Standard (Plus Top)
- Crappy Strat Copy (Redecorated, looks snazzy)
- Ibanez Acoustic/Electric Guitar

Pretty sure it was. Not 100%. But it was definitely a ZW sig. Hard to mistake that paint job

EDIT: I'm sure a lot of people use the EVH signature pedals...maybe not the wah so much but definitely the flanger and phaser.

Pete Townshend uses a Clapton Strat, So did Buddy Guy before he got his own. I believe John Mayer also used an SRV at one stage. And regarding the Les Paul, the man himself didn't design it, Gibson used his name because he was basically the hottest property in music in the early 50's, and they needed something to try to stop Fender.

Richie Sambora has used a Clapton Strat quite a few times.

No, they were using ltd Stephen Carpenter from the Deftones signatures SC-607's. Actually a lot of bands are using the SC-607 waiting for ESP their custom shops 7 strings to come.

One of the guys at the Crossroads festival was using an Albert Lee. I can't remember his name though.

I've seen loads of people use Clapton and Johnson strats, as well as the Ibanez JEM and Satriani model.
They're quite simply good guitars. You don't have to know who Steve Vai or whoever is to appreciate the JEM.

I think if the signature guitar has been around for a while and has proven its worth, other famous guitarists will use it.

I.E. the Rhoads being used by metal guitarists.

Les Paul guitars and Rhoads guitars aren't signatures. They're just named after the people that invented them.

I'd say anything designed by the guitarist and subsequently played by the guitarist is a signature model...Randy Rhoads designed the Concorde and the Rhoads V on a napkin. Sounds like a signature model to me.

I seen this dude on wwf along time ago with a srv strat with a humbucker and floyd rose...hahah...kinda dumb but kinda cool....its like a oxymoron and it was prolly a regualr strat with thaat pickguard anyhow lol...

And the fat guy from taking back sunday used to use an epiphone zakk wylde guitar...the guitarist from christian metal band disciple plays a zakk wylde guitar too (not sure if its a gibson or epiphone)

A lot of people use clapton strats

I think most of the time sig guitars are too overpriced...like the srv...I've played my buddys and it sounds cool butget a 400 dollar 60s reissue strat and a set of texas specials and their you go...almost the same guitar...tone is almost the same for half the cost...is a lefty tremolo really that important to pay 600 more dollars hahaha!

i heard (can't remember exact details) that les actually didn't really like the LP. his design was for a smaller and lighter guitar, and he didn't care too much for the design. not as much as he disliked the SG though, because when gibson changed the LP into the SG and kept calling it an LP Les made them stop using his name for the shape. so two guitars were born. kind of a run-on confusing sentence sorry. just think; if Les had liked the SG model we might not have modern LPs around! they probably would have started production on them again, but there's no saying for sure...
