I just recently got my new guitar, an Epiphone Futura Custom Prophecy EX (what a beauty), and utilizing this new guitar with my crappy old Marshall MG30DFX I realize how badly I need a new amp . So I figured, since so many people say EMGs sound so much better on tube amps, plus all the benefits a tube amp brings, I've decided I'm going to purchase a tube combo amp.

This is where you come in, UG. I need some suggestions because I am totally stumped on what amp to get. Keep in mind the following:

-It needs to be a tube combo amp
-It needs to be 600 dollars or under (yes I know there aren't many good tube combos that cheap out there but I'm sure there are some)
-It needs to be of a fairly high wattage because I do plan to play small to medium size gigs with it, 40 watts or over is acceptable because I know tube watts are stronger than solid-state watts
-It doesn't need great distortion because I have a pedal for that, it just needs to be able to get very loud without losing quality like my MG I would prefer it to have decent or good cleans though

Thanks!

This.

If I make it and become rich, I could do this.

Or, UG could get rich for us, build a large superstructure and have us all buried in our own little mini-crypts when we die.

Each room could have a different UG user in it, with his/her username above the entrance with their biggest achievement on UG. e.g. Kensai could have the male symbol and a massive **** symbols paved around his crypt.
This feature should only be available to those who have signed up before today .

/tempted to go to site suggestions and suggest this.

Peavey Classic 30 - Yes 30 watts is enough...unless you're playing stadiums...but then you could mic it through the house PA...

Or if you insist on 40 or more, you should be able to find a USED Fender Hot Rod Deluxe in your budget.

And the sound quality is good? Thats the thing I'm most worried about, I'm almost paranoid about it lol but I guess you'd expect that from an MG owner

Yes, the Classic30 is among the favorites here in UG.
It's great for Classic Rock and Blues. Great Clean sounds.
You can also get pretty LIGHT metal, like the old stuff...like Black Sabbath..
And plays very well with pedals, so your distortion and overdrive pedals will work wonders with this amp.

The Hot Rod Deluxe would probably be a little better on the clean channel, just a little. But alot more expensive too.

If you're lucky you could find a Mesa f-30 or F-50 combo for 600. They are plenty loud (my f-50 blows away my old marshall 100w jcm900 in volume), plus they are great sounding amps. They have an amazing clean channel and the distortion channels are great, so you wouldn't even want to mess with a distortion box.

I live in a pretty accessible place so I'll probably end up buying the amp on the internet
