B.B King should be #2 in my opinion. Prince? Never knew he was good at playing.

Lists like these are so useless. Also +1 to xyz66. Hit the nail on the head there.

Although isn't the best list, I'm very glad they acknowledged someone like Yngwie.

I wouldn't say Les Paul (as a guitarist) and chuck berry are the most famous

Top 10 lists are the music industry's version of trolling.
Leave these things alone.

prince?......seriously
I have no idea how they came up with these guys... even if they go by most famous... instead of best player.... how is slash more famous than les paul... being that he is famous for playing a guitar that he created... and where is metallica.... 20 times more people could identify a metallica song...rather than chuck berry

and no one I know...aside from fellow guitarists would have a clue who Yngwie Malmsteen is...

Better than the Rolling Stone list, but it's still stupid. Music is way too subjective for that sort of thing.

Prince is fucking awesome though.

Fantastic to see Prince get the recognition he deserves. Amazing guitarist

I don't know why they make these lists, no one will be entirely happy, seriously everyone will be disappointed that their favourite is not there or one of their favourites instead of someone else, and who needs a magazine to tell you who is a good guitar player?

Prince is a pretty epic guitarist.

Anyway as is the case with most lists that are entirely subjective, this sucks.

Ask yourself this:

Is slash a better guitarist than Shawn Lane? hm?

These lists are about popularity and are stupid.

The only jazz guitarist on that list is, simply, one of the lesser ones. How silly.

Material innovation =/= good playing.

I shouldn't get angry about such a stupid list, but I do.

Kieth Richard? Chuck Berry? What? That doesn't even make sense. I mean, ok I can accept that someone like slashes mixes fame and lifestyle with highly competent rock guitar playing in a way that's appealing for a list like this... but Chuck Berry is simply rubbish. I like johnny b goode as much as anyone... but there's no denying that's all he could od.

Oh look at me, I'm Stu. Whine whine whine, I want Django and my homeboy Montgomery in there along-side my other crew, namely Larry Carlton and Hot-Dog Lightnin' McGraw...

...Okay, I possibly made up the latter jazz virtuoso...
