So I can write riffs, but I cant write the leads to go with them:

I'm trying to write stuff in that tyle, and I've got the rhythm pinned down, now how do I wrote leads and solos like that?

Should I just take notes for the chord progressions and solos around them, or what?

I'm kinda lost.

i say just listen to the song and just wait for a melody to come into your head and find the sounds on your guitar

whatever chord is being played is the key your in. i just keep changing the lead key with the chord changes and try to fit the target notes that are in the chord your playing into the lead. and then just come up with a melody that sounds good.

this might not musically correct or said right but this is what i find works.
