Hey pit monkeys

I recently came into ownership of a brand new line6 variax 600 guitar signed by
acts such as Elbow, Bloc Party, the Killers, gaslight anthem, the specials, white lies, and janes addiction

How much do you reckon I could get for it were I to sell it?

A couple hundred bucks...people quoting you in the 000's are f-ing nuts. Its not a vintage tele signed by Keith Richards, its a Variax signed by some ok bands. Ask yourself this...in ten years when this guitar is sitting on somebody's wall, are they going to brag that Bloc Party and the Killers signed it? Probably not.

Not much unless you can prove it's their signatures with that little slip of paper that says so.

the killers and janes addiction are very popular. bloc party and the specials are going to get bigger. i dont know much about the others, but those four are a pretty good collection of signatures.

it's probably worth a fair bit.

Seriously people autographed stuff doesn't significantly raise the price of anything. At most you could sell it for the price of the guitar new. If the artist was dead or much more popular you could actually make some cash.

Well I won it in the first place, so even if I were to sell it for 1 euro I'd still be making a profit!

You probably won't get much more than what they guitar is actually worth.

Bands like those aren't famous enough to demand high prices for their autographs. Collectors aren't going to be very interested in the guitar. You likely would just be selling to someone who is a fan of one or more of those bands.

Maybe the Specials you know, an extremley important and well known two tone band

And Jane's Addiciton have a massive following, Bloc Party seem to be here to stay with the way there going, same with the Killer's, Elbow have a massive Cult Following...

Yes, but the question is: "is even one of those followers willing to pay thousands for an ok guitar?"
We're talking about thousands here, it's not exactly something that falls out of your armpit on a sunny day in august.

Not thousands, but probably £1k+ to the right buyer.

I dunno the specials were fairly influential in fairness...

I don't know who called it an "Ok guitar" but its actually quite an excellent piece of gear.
About 900+ dollars new aswell.

now then sig that if you must but on topic the guitar is probably worth alot the killers are quite popular

It looks terrible, and signed by those bands I think you'd have a hard time wracking up a dollar.
#36
To be honest, you might get more for a nice ivory variax, a touch of meths.

By most standards it is a very "ok" guitar, especially to anybody willing spend the kind of money people are talking about. It's definitely not attractive as a collectors item/piece of artwork.

Besides...it's gimicky. I'd rather have a guitar that does one thing well instead of everything half-ass.
