Hey all, I'm looking for an acoustic guitar

Went to the guitar shop today, played a load of guitars, but didn't really get any 'wow'-feelings.. sadly.. However, I think the reason for that was the strings on all guitars, most of them were really worn out.
Anyway, there were still a few guitars I really liked.

My budget is around €500-750.

The first guitar I liked was the Takamine EG 540 DLX (Price of €579) ( http://www.takamine.com/?fa=detail&mid=2375&sid=527 )
The second was the Takamine Takamine EG 530 SSC (Price of €599)

Any thoughts on these guitars? And experiences, things I should know that I might missed, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think I'll be plugging it in any time soon. Right now it will just be for leaning, so basic chords/strumming etc.

I would look at the ef series there are a few in the price range. I just like them a little bit better. My advice is go play as many as possible. I do love my takamine ef341

I'm only a beginner myself so take this for what its worth... but unless you have all that money to burn, you can get pretty nice guitars for ~$300 that will last a long time and for learning and playing basic chords and strumming a budget of $500-$750 seems like real overkill. I'm thrilled with the guitar I have right now and it was only $200. Sounds really nice, and I am primarily strumming basic chords and starting to learn a bit more.

Like I said, take that for what it's worth.. but you might be able to save some money to use on a case and other things you'll need

Well, I want to buy a guitar that I can play first, and those were really the only ones I liked in the store in my price range, so I was looking for some thoughts on those.

PS; I've already been playing (electric) guitar for over a half year now, and I'm ready for something a bit more expensive, that's why

I would say try some others if you can even if you have to travel a little.

That's a problem, there aren't too many shops around here, and those were the only guitars I kinda liked

$500 will get you an all solid wood acoustic guitar by Parkwood! I've tried them out; not only do they look nice, but sound awesome. Just put Martin strings on it, and you're set. Get a case for it too. I'd recommend non-electric acoustic for learning!

What do you think of the guitars I posted.?

You can also get an Epiphone Masterbilt AJ500ME for $550. Its an all solid guitar and has beaten other higher end guitars in sound tests. Just age it a bit and you got yourself a pro guitar.

Have you tried it out?

Try before you buy!

+ to the masterbilt.

Check out the guitars under 300 just in case. I had a budget of around 2000 pounds (say 2500 dollars) and ended up getting a guitar for 1000. I could get the more expensive ones but I settled for the cheaper one. I even looked at guitars that were 400 and 500 pounds. Why? Because you need to get a guitar that's just right for you and you never know what you might find in the slightly lower price ranges.

Look at seagulls as well. They have several lines you might want to look at something somewhere in the middle. Lovely guitars. Everyone that's played one speaks well of it, myself included. This is at the higher end of you budget, it's a mini jumbo, you seem to be looking at that sort of guitar. http://www.seagullguitars.com/productmaritimeswsmjhg.htm . This is another mini jumbo, slightly below your budget: http://www.seagullguitars.com/productentouragerusticmj.htm

I haven't tried that specific one out, no. The guitar shop here doesn't have that many acoustic to sell. The 530SSC costs €599 in the shop, I can get a 540SSC (which I guess is a bit better?) for €479 online (musicstore)
