I'm currently running my explorer through a peavey tour bass head with distortion. I love a good crushing tone for distortion (Isis, Opeth, Amon Amarth Gojira etc) and at bedroom levels it sounds really good. But whenever I play loud my highs are a bit harsh, and it seems like my lows (especially the E string) drown out almost everything.

Any tips/advice on sculpting EQ for a loud practice setting? It's a 9 band EQ with two other knobs for low and high and a contour knob.

for higher levels, you may wanna raise the mids and lower the bass and treble just a little.

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"
