They're good, right?
I just spent close to 900 dollars on one. (Unfortunately, it came defective and I have to bring it in tomorrow to get it either repaired or replaced.)

EDIT: Yes, his name is Michael. It was late and I was tired.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

they look kinda cool but i feel like there are better options at the price range

but it does have a zero fret...so if you determine that you like that then MTD is one of the only choices you have in that regard

Oh ok, I would expect that of a Tobias, but I don't know much about MTD as you can see by me calling them MTB

Zero fret?

A zero fret is one just behind the nut.

The nut serves only to hold the strings in place, and the zero fret is what they rest on.

I'll find a pic in a sec...

It makes open notes sounds more like fretted notes.

By the way, his name is Michael Tobias, not Mark. If you ever want him to build you anything and you call him Mark, you're ****ed. Trust me, I know.

What's the point of this thread? You bought a "Mark" Tobais bass? Did you do research before you bought it? The are the pre Gibson Tobias basses are highly regarded in the bass community. Without more details, I don't know how much information you can get.

I'm assuming you bought an MTD Kingston which is his budget line. They are good basses for the money, but how do you like it?
