I've google'd multiple times and nothing I searched for worked. Does anyone know how to paint walls to give a tie-dye effect? I really want this. I really want my room to be interesting and I think some sort of tie-dye will achieve this.

Cant you just take acid and stair at the wall.

I want to when my walls are tie-dyed, this is no joke

Get a big tie dye blanket and put it on the wall.
all I ever wanted was to pick apart the day
put the pieces back together my way

Good idea with the blankets, thanks, I would just have to make it look perfect.

1 Paint it all oen color

2. Using narrow painters' tape, make swirls and patterns.

3. Paint over that using one color.

4. Remove tape

Repeat as necessary

Yes you can.

Get a sheet and tie dye it, then put it flat on the wall.

Similar to wallpaper.

This was my second idea.

you could either get a really good painter and plan and have it take forever and be a work of art, or you could do posters, curtains, or blankets or something.
#15
Take 30 different colors of paint in cans, place a few c4 charges in your room and detonate
#16
I would hang tapestries that are tie dyed

but I guess you could water down paint and put a color down and then do the next one and blend that color into the first one. Of course you would have to do this quick enough so that the paint doesn't dry. I would test it out on cardboard or something.

But seriously I would tie dye some big sheets and just hang them off the walls. It looks really cool!

just get a can of tie dye paint

or something trippy like a poster of a van Gogh painting
i want this one

I actually google'd this first. Then right when I hit "Search" I felt like a complete moron. And thanks for the blankets idea. I guess Ill just have to take the time to do it. Or find pre-tie-dyed huge tapestries like a lot of you said. Thanks, I don't think I would've came to that conclusion. If someone creates tie-dye paint and defies science, please inform me.

Do abstract art...

Put your paintbrush in one colour, flick it at wall/slap it on wall randomly, dip in another colour, repeat.

DUDE!!!

Did you not read my post?

that's the way you do it on solid surfaces, using painters' tape and layering colors

Yeah, I read it, and it's a good idea but seriously I am the last person whose good at anything revolving around arts and crafts I would defiantly mess up layering the tape correctly and even make any sort of cool design.

hanging fabric is your best bet

multiple advantages to this:
1. if you dont like it a week later, just yank them down.
2. would be much faster than trying to get it painted and looking right
3. cheaper? maybe?
4. get multiple pieces for each wall so you can change them to fit your mood.

It's much cheaper and less of a hassle.

I have this tapestry

I love it

cool idea, but impossible. You can't simply piant your walls tie dye, that is something only created with a printer or by hand tie dye ing cloth. So you can get a giant printer, or you can try to hand paint a sketch, or you can put water all over your wall, and drip paint on it. IDK..
