The reason I'm asking is because my mom's giving me a really hard time about this. She says I can't go to parties or do a bunch of other things unless I shave. She says it's wrong, and that I look scruffy. I think that's total bull****. It's been going on for over a week and I still refuse to shave. If I want a beard I can have one. What do you think?

Teenagers all look shite with facial hair, but they don't realise it until they're older.

When you have a real beard or stache goin' and not the stupid looking pedostache that most kids can only pull off, sure.

I've almost always had beards since I was like 14. If you trim it right and take of it(keeping it from feeling like pubes, etc.) it's not that bad if you can pull it off.
I couldn't, but I liked people thinking I was 16 year old hobo, chicks dug them back then for some reason.
Yes, I'm from California, yes I like Hockey, no I do not like the Ducks, yes I like the Kings!

Of all the teenage beards I've seen only one looked good. shave it.

I say anyone can do whatever the hell they want. If they wanna grow a beard, go ahead! whos stopping you! live and let live yo!!
#13
It's OK to grow a beard if you can grow a good one.
If, however, it's so patchy you look like a cancer patient, shave for God's sake.

Hell yes it's okay. Grow out that fucking beard of defiance. As a great man once said "you wake up every day, and you go to that job interview. but before you go to your job interview, you shave off your beard. and you know what happens when you shave off your beard? 10 kids die in third world countries. 15 kids die in communist countries. and 20 kids die in socialist countries. don't conform to gilette. don't conform to schick. don't conform to the mach 3 turbo. don't conform to the venus. don't conform to the mach 3, don't conform to the mach 3."

No, I don't think teenagers should be allowed to grow beards. Beards are reserved for grown and mature men, Like Red Green, not for some punk who likes to listen to punk music and skateboard on private property.

That's what's wrong with today's world, there are no boundaries, anyone can be anything doing whatever they want and this just creates a huge freaking mess. Like Bush pretending to be a politician, where did that get us? Fighting a bunch of poor "terrorists" so we can "free the people" when really, the government just wants to steal their oil.

Anyway, beards on teenagers are bad.

I think a small goatee can sometimes be an indication to your mature enough for one. Otherwise, feeble tash's are not good.

This.

Hell, I'm 28, and my beard grows in so damn badly, I shave daily.
Left it for about 6 weeks once(isn't depression super), and looked like I'd spent a month lost in a jungle with no food, and nothing to catch food with.

This is the truth, I think no beards for us teens works as an excellent general rule.

Generally, don't bother. Although I know a guy with a pretty amazing moustache, and he's 17/18.

why does everyone say they look like douchebags with facial hair? If you can, and you want, do it. I have a chinstrap and like 3 inch long goatee and im 17, and ive gotten nothing but compliments on it, except my mom jokingly saying my goatee looks like a billy goat. Is that where they got the name from?

I know one person who's had full sideburns since he was about 15. They actually looked pretty good too!

Depends on your face. If you look like Adrien Brody, don't. If you look like Grohl, please get one.
#32
Most of them look like douchebags because they can't actually grow a bear, only a slight scruff. unless you can actually grow a beard, shave.

I've had a full moustache since my freshman year of high school. I think you should be allowed a beard if you want one, but you still live under your parents' roof. So, if they don't want you to have a beard, then you shouldn't have a beard. My parents made me cut my hair, but it was short hair or being homeless.

I had a long goatee for a while as well, and all of my friends were devastated when I shaved it. Plus, my girlfriend now complains that my face feels really 'scratchy' by the end of the day, whereas the goatee was kinda fluffy.

BEARDS FTW.

Don't let them non be-bearders git you down sunny jim.

Beards and politics are related how? There shouldn't be boundaries on something as natural as facial hair growth. Teenagers just want to feel cool and older than they are and they'll realize sooner or later that their crustaches look bad and either shave it or try a new look. Just because you can't grow a teenage beard doesn't mean other teenagers can't.
