I spent all of yesterday night, up til about 2 o'clock reading a bunch of stuff in the bass forum. I spent all of my waking hours today playing bass. Literally 8 hours straight, maybe a total 1& 1/2 hour for food, and then back to it for the rest of the night.

I have improved more today at bass than I have in the past couple of months and all because of inspiration from this forum. Mostly "You know you're a bassist when..." jokes to keep me going. I just wanted to thank you guys.

That is all.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

lol @ humanity

to TS, the bass forum has always inspired me...i know a total of 2 drummers, and 1 other bassist in my area...So, UG is where i go when i just need to surround myself with random opinions, life stories, or just plain knowledge. sometimes.

Other times, the UG forum has been the victim of my long days at work, most likely aimed at fender fanboys...etc, etc.

You're probably my favorite person right now. Though I rarely do much besides state the obvious and make smart assed remarks, I do like it when someone pops by to contribute rather than asking something (I have no room to talk, I ask my fair share of questions). A thank you is a fine contribution to the bass forum. Consider this my thanks too, bassholes. A round of applause for you.

I find the E.Guitar section inspires me more.
...they just piss me off so freaking much.

And it is one of the biggest joys in my life to rip someone out at music theory who thinks they are a great musician.

Me - "Try playing that in up a major third and sharpening the G"
*after a long pause*
Them - "Dude I don't have time for that bullshi**"

Also, welcome kstar.
I hope you enjoy it here as much as the rest of us do.

...Just stay away from the pit.

Bass Forum>>>>>>

This is the only place I havent seen people getting pissed off and such about people posting. You know, the typical "OMGz! this is elec guitar not acoustic! *Reported*"

^HEY! Get back in the gear jokes thread with that Behringer crack.

Anyway, I'm glad you've found some inspiration from our little community here. Even with Humanity skulking around here.
