Ok, this is my last thread about this, I promise. I have narrowed down a list of amps I have looked at recently that I think will do good for me, I just need an extra opinion or two.

I looked at:

Peavey 6505(+)
Peavey Valveking
Peavey Vypyr TUBE
Peavey Windsor
Peavey Classic 30
Marshall DSL401
B-52 AT112
Any Used Mesa I Can Get My Hands On (I saw a few on ebay and craigslist)

I can go used. Budget is around $700 but negotiable.

I need a heavy distortion tone, as my band has a Similar style to bands like Creed, Alter Bridge, Stone Sour, Breaking Benjamin, Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman etc.

Clean settings are also important though. I don't use it THAT much, but a good clean channel would be nice to have.

Please help me choose one. I need a new amp to replace my spider so I can start gigging again, but idk where to go from here. The only ones I listed above that I have never played are the Tube Vypyr, and the Classic 30.

Well..... The two I'd stay away from are the tube Vyper (Not truly tube) and the Windsor (for lack of good, versitile cleans)

If you get the Valveking I would suggest upgrading the tubes and speaker.
Classic 30 might need a boost to get your desired amount of distortion.

Other than that, all that i can say is to try them all out extensively and choose which one sounds best to you. The rest of your ideas seem suitable for your music.

-Gibson LP VM
-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

Haha. UG's Chuck just said chuck. haha
You're not truly playing guitar unless you know theory.

I'd go with the 6505+. Don't listen to alot of the people that say you can't get good cleans out of it, I've heard plenty of clips where it had sparkly cleans (not Fender cleans, but it's not a Fender) and gotten there my self with the right EQing of the amp.

Valveking, Vypyr Tube and the Windsor are all lackluster IMO. The Windsor especially won't really get you the Heavy Distortion tone you want, and the Valveking won't be that close either. The Vypyr may get you there, but there is better that can be had for the price.
The Classic 30 you'd definitley need some type of boost to put you into heavy territory. The clean channel, however, is excellent. I've heard the Marshall combos aren't even in the same league as the heads, and the reliability is horrible. I'd look into a JCM2000 head + cab instead of the combo if I were you, much better amp for a similar price.
Never played the B52, so can't really give any input on that. But I've heard it has plenty of gain for almost anything, and the cleans are pretty good, however the reliability may be questionable, don't quote me on that though.

Where are you located?

How much would a Used Single Rectifier Head run? Because my band is literally forcing me to get an amp so we can start gigging, but if I can make them wait a bit longer until I have more money...

I've seen them from $700-$1100. You might want to look at a Rectoverb (single rect. combo).

Get an amp with solid cleans and decent gain then use an overdrive pedal for boost...I've never saw an amp yet that has the "right" type of gain for leads right out of the box...their usually just really dull sounding and shrill
