hi, i want to buy a new guitar but i am having trouble with what to get, i play music from rock, alternate rock, classic rock, and a bit of metal.

My choices of guitar are a Epiphone les paul standard (this les paul standard is better to the other standards that i have played) or a Fender Standard Telecaster.

please reply

Dude, you should so go for the Les Paul in my opinion. Mainly because with the style of music that you play it is definately the more popular model amongst the guitarists of this genre. But also what else does your setup consist of?

well at the moment ive got an LP 100, and a behringer vintager 15 watt amp

Amp first. The Standard is the better guitar option due to your styles but is not IMO a huge step up from the LP100. A better quality amp will do a lot more for your sound whether its purely for home, band practice or gigging.
I pick up my guitar and play
