I know there are millions of these threads already, but I still can't decide on my first electric guitar. I've been playing acoustic for quite a while now. Like it says in the title I am going to play mainly metal, and a little bit of classic rock, hard rock, punk, etc. Lots of Metallica. Don't have a set price range but I'd say nothing over £350 (yes I live in the UK). Here are some guitars I have looked at according to reviews they're all good but I don't know which will be best suited for me. I can't try them out because there are no guitars shops around where I live, there are a few small ones with about 10-15 guitars but they all suck.

Ibanez RGR321EX

Ibanez ART320

Ibanez RGA42FM

It's very similar to the ART320 except it has two cutaways

Ibanez RG321MH

So yeah, out of these, which would be best for me? If you have seen any better guitars then tell me please.

I also need an amp so I'm planning on getting a Roland Cube 30x for my first amp and maybe a Peavey 60w tube later. Is this a good choice?

Thanks in advance

Roland Cubes are good (Y)
Ibanezes are good, but get a LTD or something, since LTD is owned by ESP, and that is what metallica plays

Make sure you have 24 frets for Metallica solos too!

Thanks for the advice. I did look into some LTD's but most of them are way over my price range, I'll keep looking though. I liked the KH-202.

Don't get a KH-202

Sigs models are normally below standard and are just made to lure people in by using their guitar heroes name.

I've played many ibanez and i loved them, but after trying LTDs they feel more solid for the money

Cubes are great, but have a look at peavey vypyr 30w

Just try some out or get someone to try them out for you and see what one you prefer,

Cubes are built more solid

But i think peavey have a few more features not 100% sure tho

Like I said, can't find any cheap LTD's though. At least no good ones.

Vintage V100. Metal, cheap. Plus you get the other benefits of playing stuff that the LP is good at.. like blues or some ****

Both James and Kirk use LP's.

I'll check that one out, thanks. Just looking at the specs it seems pretty solid but not sure if the pickups will cut it for metal. I might just get a Yamaha Pacifica since it's my first guitar after all.

I'm pretty sure Kirk uses an ESP KH-2 but he has many guitars most of them strat style. But yeah James uses a Les Paul style ESP.
