Okay so I saw this guitar earlier at a local music store:

http://musicgoround.com/detail.aspx?id=747287

I like the Tempest guitars but this one just seems strange. I don't know which exact model this is can someone tell me? The only tempest guitars I know are the Custom and Classic, and Im fairly sure its not that seeing the p'ups and inlays look different.

Advice?

Thanks

Can you give me a specific model name or is just Schecter Tempest, no Custom or Classic or anything.

It's different from the current models. But then again, it is a used, and probably discontinued model. It looks different, but real.

Are those P-90's? I don't think any Tempest has P-90's. Might just be a Tempest with different pickups, but I don't know.

"Tempist"

The inlays are wrong; judging by this year's models it looks like an Ultra.

That was my guess, wouldn't really give me the humbucker tone Im looking for right?

Depends what genre of music you play, what amp/effects you have, what tone your looking for, etc.

So would my best bet be to steer away from this?

They could've stuck the headstock on a different guitar

Not sure about the model, or if it's legit.
But they're sweet axes if you can get your hands on one.
They're extremely versatile.

Try eBay, that's where I got mine.
The seller's account name is mauery21804.
He's a Schecter retailer and sells Blemished guitars for cheapp.
Sometimes he'll throw something up that's not blemished, but cheap.
I got my Tempest for $390 brand new, non-blemished from him.
He's legit too.
Tons of good deals on Harmony Central and Sevenstring.org.

I was thinking of saving up for a Schecter Tempest Classic any opinions? Idk how well the SD pickups will sound with my Vypyr until I upgrade to a tube amp.

well, it's a legit schecter, i can tell you that. I'm around so many of them near me, that i can easily spot a fake. i've done research and that is a discontinued.
