Anyone feel trapped to one instrument? Well, in my case, i'm trapped to acoustic. I've played acoustic for about two years now, tried some electric guitars and basses, but im just too used to acoustics.

Got any suggestions? Do you feel the same way?

It's not a bad thing to only like to play acoustically. If that's your thing then that's cool man. Go with the flow, bro.

Personally, I'll play whatever. Only playing guitar at the moment, but I want to learn piano, bass, violin, and drums.
Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful.

work at it, i can use all 3 (acoustic, bass, electric) took a while but u gotta get used to the size of the strings, the pressure u need to use and the size of the instrument

You've gotta just try new things, you don't have to really get into an instrument. Usually the rule goes, be decent at a lot of things, or really good at a few.

I started my musical life in trumpet and piano, and both helped me with finger dexterity. I suck at both but whatever.

Yeah i'm the same. I think i'd be more determined to learn other instruments if I couldn't already play acoustic guitar. Like I tried learning electric guitar and drums before, but I just gave up and went back to my classical guitar.

personally they both feel the same to me; I'd rather play electric, but I'll play acoustic whenever also.

"You Ugly git!" - That girl in the restaurant

"You Were a Mistake!" - Mum

I'm pretty good at bass and guitar, but I can't seem to get any better at the other instruments that I can (sort of) play.

Like, I spent a couple of hundred euro on a keyboard and I can only play some simple stuff on it, and despite getting tin-whistle lessons for two years back in primary school I can only play one song on that.

Hey, isn't TS that dude who had a "secret admirer", made a bunch of people stay up late, and then became insanely hated with his fail after-dance story?

Oh, and I really want to learn piano, mandolin, and drums.

That's quite easily changed if he so felt like it. And his username is really familiar...

I'm almost 100% sure it's him... Must check threads by user...

I hate you, TS!

On Topic: I play both the acoustic and electric about the same amount of time. I recently picked up my brother's bass and been trying it out. I still prefer my electric

this,

just pick up a whole new instrument. I started off playing electric then started learning drums and shortly after i picked up acoustic guitar and piano. i think the drums did that.

It was nobody. But we learned that TS is a douche that pops his collar.

I'd actually say I'm about even on guitar, piano, and bass(electric and upright). Maybe not quite as good as upright bass as the other three but pretty close. My band teacher likes to say "Jack of all trades, master of none." -_-
