Have you ever been instantly hooked on a band after hearing one of their songs for the first time?

This just happened to me with Bad Religion, listened to Sorrow, just loved it.

Sorry if this has been done already, summer laziness is forbidding me from typing my subject into the searchbar.

I'm pretty sure there's a thread on this... oh well, I'm too lazy as well.

Adding to your Bad Religion, my first favorite song was You.

And for another band, it was Heart Shaped Box that got me into Nirvana.

When I heard Lonely Train on the radio a few years ago, I shat bricks and paid close attention to catch the band name... and the rest is history

And Deth's Symphony of Destruction.

Seriously, the first notes rang out, and I knew that this was going to be the best song I'll ever hear. Sometimes, I think it might not be, but then I watch the live videos again...And I remember why.

I saw someone talking about Porcupine Tree here on the forums a couple years back, and someone said (or maybe I interpreted something wrong) that one of the members was from In Flames. I loved In Flames back then so I went and checked out some Porcupine Tree over the only filesharing method I knew of at the time, Limewire.

The first song I heard was Prodigal. I was amazed, enthralled and genuinely interested in hearing the rest of their stuff. I saved my money for a week, all the while listening to Blackest Eyes, Trains and The Sound of Muzak, until I could afford In Absentia.

I bought the album and listened to it non-stop. I burnt copies for my friends and they loved it. Over the years, I bought more and more Porcupine Tree. The only stuff I haven't paid for is the limited edition stuff they released, and that's only because the CDs were given out and not released for sale.
