I've never heard of a booze asbo before

it must be a UK thing!

p.s. I think that only tackles part of the problem, which essentially does not do much at all as it only targets social drinkers, people can still drink at home, for example.

People need to change socially. We need to change our mental approach to being 'something' in society and how we behave and are govern by control and authoritarianism.

David Harvey has the answer.

In a seperate premise it seems ok, but in practise it will fail epically.

this quote made me lol aswell "From Monday, police and councils in England and Wales can seek such an order on anyone aged 16 and over. "

so you can be banned from pubs and stuff, before you are legally allowed to drink on your own :P

It also reads - "Offenders must stay away from pubs, bars, off-licences and named areas for up to two years or face a £2,500 fine."

Maybe drunk teenagers who get alcohol from by other means that buying from pubs etc where you have to be 18 are being drunk in public places and causing problems. Therefore they need to have a specific asbo which is an alcohol related asbo, as apposed to violence etc...?

well, seeing as I drink on the streets most weekends (I'm extremely young looking, even though I'm 17) and I've never been caught and/or had my booze taken off me.. so even if they did give you an Asbo you could easily find somewhere else to do it, usually a house or a pub
"You're a twat!"- That dude in morrisons

"You Ugly git!" - That girl in the restaurant

"You Were a Mistake!" - Mum

Stupid law is stupid.

All these drinking laws and outcries recently is retarted.

If the country wasn't in such a ****ing state maybe we wouldn't drink so much and have a "live for the weekend" mentality.

EDIT: Im basing this on the fact that innocent drinkers are bound to get roped into this, if they can actually arrest the drunks causing all the hassle, fair play but I doubt they'd get it right.
