combined with either a tube screamer or a mxr distortion + do you think with the addition of that pedal i would get a better tone more suitable for melodic hardcore/punk
any other suggestions welcome besides getting a new amp i just got the head and enjoy it aalot i just need a wider pallet of tones for my more aggressive music projects

You should be able to dial some good tones with it stock depending what speakers.

What bands are you going for as melodic hardcore like Sinking Ships, Killing the Dream. or D4 or Silent majority?
Peavey VTM
Marshall 8412
Fender 4x12 loaded with t75's
Epiphone LP-100
Fender Stratocaster Highway one

Should be decent for punk without a boost. Stay away from this if you use cleans alot though.

-Gibson LP VM
-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

My rig is simple

I'm not a fan but for a cheap punk amp it should be fine. Just like 311 said tho, get a nicer cab.
