Anyone know of any good, inexpensive amps? Maybe with some distortion and such?
#2
inexpensive is incredibly ambiguous. whats your actual buget? distortion I can understand, but what about "such"?

Well I'll go by my terms of inexpensive..

The Microcube is pretty cool, pretty loud fun to jam with.
The Vypyr for the same reasons.

I also thought Peavey's Windsor was badass for $200 or whatever.

Not to thread-jack, but I was about to ask a similar question.

I need a new guitar amp (something that's more than just a practice amp).

I'm definitely a classic rock guy (just so you know what music I like) and my budget is in the $300 or less (used) range.

Thanks

What's MF?

the words "Good" and "Inexpensive" do not belong in the same sentence with each other....

But anyway, both are subjective terms. What is good to me, may not be good to you. What is inexpensive to me may not be inexpensive to you...

That said, I'd say the EVH 5150 III Full stack is a Great inexpensive amp - to a millionaire.

Are you facepalming yourself?

Yeah, since I can't believe I didn't realize "MF" stood for Musician's Friend

BTW, those Windsor heads are really cheap there

On sale as long as stock lasts. Honestly, its a good deal! Not the best amp ever, but for that money its hard to beat. VERY hard to beat.

Not really. Unless you slave a POD into the poweramp . Well, you might get something useable with an OD in front.

Yeah, but the best amp ever would probably cost more than $200

Geez, MF is even giving away a mic stand if you buy it! It's a $80 value, yours free!

Since we do not have a clear definition of Inexpensive from TS, here's one way to determine "Inexpensive"...

Whatever type of product you're talking about, find the most expensive one you can find. 10% or less of that price is Inexpensive...

Most expensive Stack I found on MF was $10,000 U.S. Then next was $5000. so I'll nock off the 10,000 one cuz it was really hurting the curve.....So 10% of 5000 = $500.

so stacks for 500 or less are these

I'd say the Blackstar HT-5 is the best of those..
