Do you mean installing something like a tremol-no? No bad effects. But you may as well have a hardtail.

people do it all the time. its called blocking the trem. it wont hurt anything about the guitar at all.

No, it depends on what you want, at least having one, blocked or not will always give you the option.

If you're never planning on using the trem, don't buy a guitar with a trem. It's not worth it. Get a hardtail.
