It started about an hour ago. It feels like it would after swimming, except I haven't been in water. What could I try doing to make it back to normal?

And yes I cleaned them.

pop your ears to equalise the pressure on either side of your eardrum.

WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR AVATAR?!

On topic, it could be to do with pressure. Try holding your nose shut whilst closing your mouth and trying to breathe out (or something to that effect, if you know what I'm talking about).

The same exact thing happened to me in the same exact ear. I dunno if this is your problem but go to a drugstore or something and get something to clean out your earwax

something like that happened to my dad a few years ago. your ear canal or whatever its called might be blocked. its caused by a buildup of earwax and the dirt in the air. once it starts, it will even pull off little bits of cotton from q-tips.

the doctor gave him drops that he put in for about a week before it loosened up and fell out. have someone look into your ear with a flashlight and see if the canal is blocked.

Ear infection?

im really unhappy to say it but this guy is 99% most likely right. and if not that you have mucus/water/goo in your ear behind the drum/in the tube that drains into your body and WILL have an ear infection. if your smart you will go to the doctors and he will give you stuff for it. do it because you really dont want to have to go threw and ear infection

I tried that, and it ended up making my nose and throat feel like they were going to break if I kept doing it. Nothing changed with my ears.

And I'm really hoping it's not an ear infection. I might be going to the doctor's tomorrow to see if I have strep throat, so I'll check with them.

I can't see properly out of my left eye.

Oh sorry, that's not helping the thread, is it? Ask a doctor. He'll know.

Ha, my brother had the same problem. He spent about an hour clearing his ear out with earbuds and all that stuff. It went away after a couple of hours without him noticing.

The same thing happened to me the next day. I tried popping my ears over and over, but eventually it went away without me noticing.

And we both had it in the left ear.

Wait an hour or two, and then GO TO A DOCTOR.
Standard procedure.
You dumb fuck.

It's midnight, I'm 15, I'm home alone, and the nearest doctor is about a 20 minute drive from here.

You dumb fuck.

it's no big deal, it happens to me occasionally too. though one time it lasted for like 2 days straight so i went to the doctor. it was an infection, he just cleaned it with some huge machine and told me it'd go away on its own.

I dunno, I was hoping it was just a temporary solution I can solve myself.

Shiiit. Well, if it counts for anything, it went like this.

Friday: Started showing signs of fever
Saturday: Fever got worse, stayed in bed all day
Sunday: Played bass for an hour at church, then stayed in bed all day. Fever was worse
Monday: Fever reached 100.9 degrees, felt horrible. Throat started hurting
Today: Fever went down to 98.6, throat fluctuated between feeling ok and hurting. Ear "popped" at about 11:50.

Also, I've found that burping seems to provide temporary relief for the short time I burp, if that counts for anything either.

Theres this special ear oil you can buy, get some of that, then before you go to sleep, fill the problematic ear with said oil, plug with cotton. do your best to keep that ear facing up until you fall asleep.

Wake up, and spray with quoted nozzle, really really hard, with as much water pressure as possible.

Brown ear-goo should fall out. Problem solved.

Just pound your open palm onto your ear while facing the ear downward and it will drain right out.

Works everytime.

hydrogen peroxide is really helpful. i had this wicked (only word i can think to use, it was wicked as in EVIL) ear infection in 6th grade. and that thing slowly grew into a nasty painful ball of fungus roughly the size of a nickel. jesus christ that was the worst pain in my life. make sure you get to a doctor as soon as possible and have them irrigate that ****.
